Who is Pancakes The Adventure Cat?

This is all about the most glorious cat in the world: Pancakes. It is likely too much for most people, but I really love my cat, okay? You don't have to read it...but it will have cute pictures!

Birthday: Christmas Eve, 2020

How did I Choose my Adventure Cat, Pancakes?

I wanted a cat for a long time. However, as I was very into the outdoors in the PNW, I also wanted a companion who would join me on my adventures and would enjoy them.

What did I want in a cat?

It was very important to me to find a cat that would not just tolerate adventure, but one who would enjoy it. Each cat has its own personality of course, however I wanted to stack the odds in my favor by finding a cat breed that would be most likely to be a good adventure cat. This was also why I chose a male cat, as they tend to be bolder than most female cats (again, not every time, but often)

Though many of the breeds recommended as adventure cats are short haired, I also really wanted a fluffy cat. After looking through the typical temperaments of all the best adventure cat breeds with fluffy hair, I narrowed it down to either a Siberian Forest Cat or a Ragdoll (Main Coons were also on the list, but I wanted a cute cat and they look a bit too much like a wizard who accidentally got stuck as a cat for my personal preferences).

Then I found a reputable breeder...

My roommate at the time was planning on getting a puppy, and we decided that we wanted to get both the puppy and kitten around the same time. This gave me a timeline, Eventually I was able to find a few reputable breeders with kittens that would be available around the same time as we got the puppy.

Pancakes as a tiny kitten - very fluffy and won't sit still

I asked a lot of questions to the breeders about their available kittens to determine the temperament of the specific cat. One tiny fluff ball stood out to me. Not only was he cute, but Amy, the breeder, said he was curious - always trying to discover new areas of the house - and that he enjoyed car rides and always purred when she brought him out to the car.

The first picture I saw of Pancakes was this blurry one of a tiny spirited kitten who wouldn't sit still for a picture. He is such a cutie!

To be continued, but in the meantime check out these cute pictures from the day I took Pancakes home:
